Embracing Geekhood

I haven’t written anything recently, as I have been studying hard in every spare moment (honest!) for some exams. I’ve been taking a course called the NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) General Certificate. It’s pretty hard work, and covers a lot of ground in Health and Safety. For example, forklift trucks, the three different kinds of asbestos (crocidolite, mysorite and chrysotile) and the names of all the different bits of a tower scaffold. I have to say, it is more interesting that I might be suggesting, and I have enjoyed learning it all, but unfortunatly it’s now exam time! Therefore I’ve spent most of the day today studying, and revising my huge folder of notes. We were warned that this course would turn us into geeks, and although I’m sure thatI was already well down that road, I fear that NEBOSH has accelerated the inevitable.

This video appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News, and I got quite excited because it concerned forklifts. I’m going to claim that watching it is revision, but be warned that it is not for the squeamish! Who thought a german forklift driver training video could be this funny?! (It’s a slow starter, but skip to 2.15 mins in…)
